God has graciously allowed me to begin a new chapter in my life. The journey had become quite wearisome as I waited upon direction and insight, however, I know that I learned many things during these past few years.
I just started grad school at Columbia Interenational University. I love it here so far! First, we talk about God! I didn't think this would be a big difference, but when you are sitting in class and your teacher turns to you to ask what you would like to pray about or what you think the bible has to say about the information being study, the atmosphere is completely different. My heart is elated to think that my two worlds, my faith and teaching, are able to engulf each other. How amazing!
I have met a few people so far and am working on studying, however, I have forgotten how easily distracted I get during classes. I am learning to focus again but I still catch myself doodling during the lectures at times. oh well. a true artist at spirit.
Knowing me, I have found a great place to shop (even if it is merely window shopping for the time being). I'm talking indoor mall, outdoor mall, movie theater...the works. I also found a great lake to walk around, but haven't figured out whether I am allowed to be there or if it is private...I guess I'll find out soon enough.
The campus here is beautiful. Green. and the grass is soft again (unlike florida's crab grass riddled with flesh eating ants) and not to mention there are many swings around campus where you can take a breather (probably from the huge hill I have to walk to class (ok really I drive up it to be perfectly honest, but I have walked it once)) and scattered throughout other key areas that allow you to swing and look out across the beautiful mountains. Blessed. I had forgotten how much I truly feel home in the mountains!
My laptop went on the fritz though and started using lines across my screen to let me know how it felt about the document I was working on, so alas, I have bought a new computer. Thankfully, the Lord has graciously provided enough that I was able to get the computer I've wanted for awhile...a mac. My new macbookpro is now sitting comfortably on my desk surround by all the boxes I have yet to unpack and all the book I am suppose to be currently reading and all the decor I have yet to hang. Sounds like I need to get off here and get to work :/
My heart is happy (even though I miss my family a lot).
